By directly designing and making ceramic tiles which meet or exceed the desires of each individual client, Edinburgh Ceramics achieves an economic paradigm from which both parties derive maximum benefit. None of the purchase price paid by clients is siphoned away to help pay for inflated city-centre retail space. The budget available for each project can therefore be focused on designing and manufacturing the most appropriate products.
Economic context:
As an active contribution to socio-economic sustainability, as much as possible of Edinburgh Ceramics' essential production costs are preferentially recycled back into Scotland or into the wider UK economy. Imported materials and equipment are employed only if no suitable indigenous equivalent is available; an attitude to purchasing which would empower more local economies if adopted as the norm. Edinburgh Ceramics also makes small but regular charitable donations, funded from business profits.
